An easy to make Ipod armband. Use the outer pocket so that you can adjust your songs while running. Tuck the Ipod inside the laminated pocket if you want to protect it from wet weather.
Gather supplies: - Canvas fabric, < 1/4 yard - laminated fabric, < 1/4 yard - fusible fleece, < 1/4 yard - 2" knit elasti, 1/2 yard or less - vinyl, clear, 20 gauge, < 1/4 yard
Cut laminated cotton, canvas, fusible fleece to 4.5" x 11" Apply fleece to back of canvas fabric.
Pin laminated cotton to canvas, right sides together.
Stitch using 1/4" seam allowance and leaving a 2" opening for turning.
Turn right side out and fold in seam allowance on opening.
Cut vinyl to about 3.25" x 4.25". Stitch it 3/4" below the top of the rectangle onto the canvas to create pocket.
Cut the elastic to the circumference of your arm where you would wear it.
Fold the rectangle so that the laminated cotton is on the inside. Place the ends of the elastic inside the folded pocket and baste along the sides. Try the armband on with the Ipod in it to determine a comfortable fit for the elastic. You may need to shorten the elastic.
Stitch along the left and right sides. Reinforce your stitching along the elastic. Be sure to fold back the elastic when you are stitching so that the elastic is sewn only along the edges.
