Use your favorite stencils and inks to create the look of watercolors with just a few easy steps
Create an exciting new look to any project using your favorite stencils and inks. Add a little spray of water and turned them quickly into an amazing watercolor look!
Cut a piece of cardstock that fits the size of the card base you will be creating. The piece shown is 6" x 6".
Turn the stencil so the backside is facing up.
Dab several colors of inks onto the stencil. For this one, I was trying to create a winter sunset so I chose to use blue and 2 tones of pinks. When dabbing be sure to move the colors around so that they blend together for a better effect.
Lightly spray the inked stencil with water. Notice how the colors are blending together?
Turn the stencil over and carefully place it on the cardstock making sure not to slide it around. Place the paper towel over it (it makes this step easier with it covered) and lightly press down.
Lift the stencil carefully off the paper and see what awesome design you have just created! Allow it to dry completely. Note: If the paper curls along the edges, use a warm iron to iron it flat again once it has dried.
Now, use the piece you just created on a card, layout or any project that you are designing! Use the " Inked Stencil Card" tutorial to see how this card was finished.
