Friday was Marion's birthday, so I had to make a pretty phenomenal cake. I wanted to make an owl cake but had a last minute change of heart and went with sushi. I Googled for ideas but found only tons of cakes with lots of little sushis on them, so I decided to design my own and share the process with you guys {& I better not see this on Cake Wrecks!!!}:

All the various ingredients for a sushi cake.
Using an egg tray to make orange Jello 'salmon roe'.
I used two 9" round cake pans and Funfetti mix.
I put the layers together and frosted them.
I sprinkled the top {not the center} w/ sweetened flaked coconut.
I sliced up green Fruit Roll Up and carefully stuck it to the outside.
I layered red & yellow Fruit Roll Up & shaped for ginger.
I cut a kiwi in random places to resemble wasabi.
I applied Jello 'eggs' & garnished with soy sauce, chopsticks & grass.
