Description

During the summer time, I really like to decorate my fireplace with candles, so this is a tutorial how I make my own –scented- candles. -Please don't try it if you are under 18 years old :( - ...also... -Sorry if my English aren't perfect :( -

Instructions

  1. Small 8842

Ice cubes 1 old pot Empty juice or milk cartons Camping-gas or other hitting device 1 lighter Some pegs Some bamboo sticks Scented candles (same height with the cartons or higher) Paraffin flakes (or old used candles) and Scissors or/and Knife Newspapers

  2. Small 8843

We need the wick of the candles, so we try to chop gently the scented candles with hands so that the wicks are separated out of the candles. If this is not possible, you must buy some wick.

  3. Small 8844

Cut the carton so as its top part is 5-10cm shorter than the wick.

  4. Small 8845

There are 2 ways to stabilize the wick at the center of the carton 1. using a peg 2. making a knot at the center of a bamboo stick To tell you the truth, I prefer the bamboo stick.

  5. Small 8846

Light up the gas and keep the fire in a low temperature.

  6. Small 8847

Add the chopped scented candles into the pot and stir with a bamboo stick. Be very careful...this MUST NOT boil, so keep the temperature very low.

  7. Small 8848

Add the paraffin flakes (or pieces of some cropped used candles)

  8. Small 8849

Stir with a bamboo stick until all the pieces of the paraffin and the candles melt.

  9. Small 8850

Pure some of the liquid (the melted paraffin and candles) into the carton just fill the carton about 2 cm.

  10. Small 8851

Leave the paraffin to cold and become solid.

  11. Small 8852

Pour the liquid into the carton. If the paraffin started to cold, just hit it up for a second before pouring.

  12. Small 8853

Put the ice cubes into the carton; try to have the wick always at the center of the carton.

  13. Small 8854

After some hours, when the paraffin is solid, you can tear the carton. Just take under consideration that there is some water (from the ice cubes) inside the carton.

  14. Small 8855

Cut the wick 2-3 cm long.

  15. Small 8856

    And…this is it…
