Before starting this project, you need to measure your wrist with a tape measure. My wrist measures (more or less) 18cm and the following bracelet is made referring to this measurement. Adapt the pattern to your own measurement, please. Abbreviations : ch = chain sl st = slip stitch dc = double crochet (=american single crochet/sc) RS = right side of your work WS = wrong side of your work With red yarn make a slip knot on your hook and chain 35 to form your foundation chain. Row 1 (RS) : insert hook in 2nd chain from hook and work your 1st dc. Work 33 dc, ch 1 and turn. [34 dc] Row 2 (WS) : work 34 dc, ch 1 and turn.
Rows 3, 4, 5 and 6 : as Row 2 Row 7 (RS) : work 34 dc, do not ch 1 or turn, but start to work along the side, from top to bottom.
Work 3 sl st and ch 8, to form the loop to fasten the bracelet.
slip stitch along side to close loop, and make 3 more sl st to reach side bottom. Fasten off.
Place the heart shaped button in the middle of your bracelet (between stitches 17 and 18, see picture). With the right needle (it has to pass through the button holes!) and some white yarn, sew it in place...
... making a double knot to the front. Trim the excess of yarn.
LETTERS I and U We are going to decorate the surface of the bracelet with some chain stitches, using some pink yarn. Insert the hook from front to back in the bottom space between 4th and 5th stitches on the left of the button.
Pull to front the yarn, forming a loop. Continue to work a straight line, from bottom to top, drawing loops with the help of the hook.
To fasten off, pull the yarn end through the last last loopand then backto the wrong side over the loop...
...then darn in ends on the wrong side.
On the right side of the button, keeping the same distance, start to work the letter U, starting from the top of the bracelet.
As you can see from the picture, you start from the top, reach the bottom, work 2 stitches, then go back to the top! Fasten off as for letter I.
Trim all ends in.
Sew on the button for the closure of the bracelet.
Front of the bracelet when on your wrist.
Back of the bracelet ! Hope you are in love with your own make!
