Description

So I while back, I did some Hunger Games Nail art (different from this one) and since the premiere is right around the corner, I decided to make a design using the book cover!

Instructions

  1. Small dsc 0339

Here are the materials I used to create this design! Top Left: Clear nail polish, gold nail polish, black nail polish, and gray. (I ran out of gray, so I used a blueish-gray I had on hand) Bottom Left: toothpick, dotting tool or flattened bobby pin, and an emery board to shape(optional)

  2. Small dsc 0340

Apply base coat and paint your nails a solid black! (this may take two coats of black)

  3. Small dsc 0342

Using your dotting tool, make the following circular pattern anywhere on your nails. repeat on 4 nails, leaving one nail solid black for the mockingjay pin.

  4. Small dsc 0345

Now, let's start the mockingjay. this is fairly complicated, so I suggest trying it out on some paper first. (it's tiny, so it doesn't have to be perfect!) Start by making a single line in gold with the toothpick. this will be the beak.

  5. Small dsc 0346

Next, make a circle at the top of the beak. this will be the head.

  6. Small dsc 0347

Make an oval shape like so and fill in.

  7. Small dsc 0348

Make two line under the stomach, making the one on the right a bit longer than the one on the left. This will be the tail.

  8. Small dsc 0349

Make a like as so. this will be the wing

  9. Small dsc 0352

draw a circle around your mockingjay and add an arrow near the beak, intersecting the tail and the circle.

  10. Small dsc 0353

Add a top coat of clear polish, and you're all set! Comment with any questions!
