Stitching an accurate dart in a sewn garment is easily done when you have clearly transferred the pattern markings. We'll be using wax tracing paper to do that.
Stitching an accurate dart in a sewn garment is easily done when you have clearly transferred the pattern markings. We'll be using wax tracing paper to do that.
Place the waxy side of the tracing paper against the wrong side of your fabric. By doubling the paper, you can do both sides at once. Put the pattern on top, making sure the the edges of the pattern line up properly with the edge of the fabric.
Use a ruler to trace the dart legs with a tracing wheel, pressing hard to transfer the wax paper.
Your stitching lines will now be visible with the colored line. You're ready to start sewing!
