As i saw that miniature felt monster plushie on a tiny swap page, i wanted one for myself too! You can make these plushies into keyrings, jewelry or keep them as your pocket friends or dollhouse miniatures. :) Im sorry that this how-to has so many text in each step, but i wanted to keep everything detailed.
First print out this pattern or create one by yourself. I made this one size of the original pattern, but it seems like printing it out it enlarges. Click on this pic to see the original size and see how you can print this pattern out. ;)
To create a pattern by yourself, start with folding in half or so a piece of thick paper or cardboard. Then, draw a half of the pattern on the pattern, making sure that the middle of the pattern is on the fold. See the picture. This way you will make a symmetrical pattern.
Pattern i used is this big.
Then draw your pattern on felt twice. If your pattern isn't symmetrical, you should flip your pattern after drawing first time on felt. If your pattern is symmetrical, i think it doesn't really matter if you flip your pattern around.
Also cut out any other things out like eyes or accessories. I gave my monster a cute tie. :)
Then lightly trim off that layer of pen with scissors. As you're going to sew from outside, you don't want any pen to show out.
Don't cut anything from edge, just take that bit of dirty wool off.
Before you sew, make sure that your needle is with small eye as it makes this tiny sewing easier. Also make sure that thread you are using for sewing the 2 plushie parts together is matching felt color, because if it doesn't,the thread will stand out and won't look very nice.
Then start sewing! First add all things you want on your plushie. I added eyes and eyebrows first.
Then i added him mouth, tie and i also embroidered shirt detail.
Then sew front and back together and stuff. I sew from outside to make things a lot easier. :)
And you're done!
Front of the plushie.
Back of the plushie.
Here you can look for some ideas how to personalize your new miniature friend. I drew these one of each family member,i even added a baby one of my sister's baby that she's waiting now! ^-^
