I recently made this make-up brush roll for a work colleague. Its very quick and easy to make. All you need to make this project is two contrasting fabrics and a piece of ribbon. The attached PDF gives full instructions on how to make a brush roll.
I recently made this make-up brush roll for a work colleague. Its very quick and easy to make. All you need to make this project is two contrasting fabrics and a piece of ribbon. The attached PDF gives full instructions on how to make a brush roll.
Cut Fabric as following - Pattern fabric - 10inch x 14inch 9inch x 14inch Lining fabric - 10inch x 14inch Ribbon - 26inch long
Pocket section - Fold smaller piece of patterned fabric in half length ways with wrong sides together. Iron flat. Using a top stitch, sew along the folded edge.
To make the individual pockets, use tailors chalk to draw lines down the fabric at 1inch or 2inch intervals depending on how wide you want each pocket.
Inner section - Pin the pocket section (making sure you lines are on the outside) to the right side of the lining material.
Sew along your drawn lines to create the individual pockets.
Fold ribbon in half right sides together. With the folded ribbon laying centrally across the inner section, pin to the right edge. Use a few stitches at the very edge to hold in place.
Pin the outer pattern fabric and inner section right sides together making sure the ribbon is enclosed inside. Sew the 2 pieces taking leaving a 2inch gap for turning. Turn right side out and close gap using a slip stitch.
Your now finished!
