How To Make A Jewelry And Trinket Stand With A Faux Patina

I couldn't just leave my bracelets laying around, so I made a quick bracelet and trinket stand. So, today I'm going to show you how to build ones of these, and also do a Faux Patina.

Patina forms naturally on copper and and bronze. This is why the Statue Of Liberty is that sea foam green color. It's not meant to look like that. This is what happen when copper and bronze get old and weathered. I thought it would be cool to do a fake patina on my new jewelry stand to get the metals to match and to make the entire stand match the hanging organizer I made.

You will need

a short Candle stick with a flat top a taller Candlestick with a decorative top 3 or a vintage Button for the top a pretty Plate for the middle

Instructions

1. 

   I WAS going to stencil the plate to match, but I changed my mind. That's why the stencil is in the picture.

2. 

   First for the patina: All you do is paint the metal with a sea foam green.

3. 

   Let it dry a bit and then pat it with a paper towel a bit.

4. 

   Let these dry.

5. 

   Next glue the plate onto the shorter candle stick.

6. 

   Then clue the taller candle stick to the plate. I also put a matching vintage button on the top there. Super easy!
