A custom-made stamp makes heat embossing very personal. Learn how to heat emboss using just a few supplies and a custom or ready-made stamp.
A custom-made stamp makes heat embossing very personal. Learn how to heat emboss using just a few supplies and a custom or ready-made stamp.
Assemble all your supplies. I have a custom-made 3.5"x" rubber stamp, an RSVP envelope, an embossing stamp pad, superfine embossing powder, and a heat gun. I also have a pantyhose foot with baby powder in it, which I use as an anti-static tool.
Rub the pantyhose over the surface you are going to emboss.
And press the stamp on your ink (or the ink on your stamp, if your stamp is large like this one is!).
Press the stamp down on the surface you are embossing; try to apply even pressure.
That will give you a nearly transparent impression like this one. Don't touch it, or else it will smudge!
Sprinkle embossing powder on the surface. I like to use a spoon and do it over a sheet of scrap paper.
Gently use your scrap paper as a funnel to coax the embossing powder back into its container.
Use a small brush to dust off any excess powder.
Blow the heat gun over the powder to set the image.
All done!
