i don't know why but when it comes to my crafts
i am a neat freak
so when i did an embroidery for a recent swap i just couldn't bear to leave the messy stitching exposed,
also i had cut the fabric too small to lace it onto the hoop, i searched for a tutorial to finish off your work in a hoop but couldn't find one, so this is what i came up with

You Will Need (7 things)
- Double Sided Sticky Tape
- Wadding or fleece
- Fabric
- Heavy Card Cardstock
- Embroidery Hoop
- Sewing Thread
- Finished Embroidery
Steps (14 steps, 40 minutes)
-
1
take the hoop you will be working your embroidery in and
draw around the inside of the inner hoop on mounting board -
2
cut out your disc, then trim it so it is a little smaller
-
3
cut out a circle of fleece or wadding
i drew around a hoop 1" bigger than the hoop i'm doing the embroidery on so the hoop i'm working my piece on is a 4" and the fabric disc is 5" -
4
next cut out your backing fabric
{again 1" bigger than finished embroidery} -
5
next layer the fabrics and lace onto the card disc
-
6
until it looks like this
-
7
cut out your finished embroidered piece 2" bigger than your embroidery hoop
-
8
i added another piece of fleece for a nice padded look
i trimmed this off close to the hoop -
9
then i stuck down my embroidered fabric with
double sided tape on the inside of the hoop -
10
all stuck down
-
11
take your disc of fabric covered card
and push into the back of the hoop firmly
{i didn't use any glue} -
12
you get a nice padded effect
-
13
finished!

i hope this is easy to follow
and it comes in useful for any other neat freak crafters like me!
