This tutorial provides the missing link that attaches Evozip skins to Evozip bags. The buttons serve to hide the grommets on your skin and allow you to add further customization to your bag. Like the bags and skins, the buttons are designed to use off the shelf components and no tools. See my other projects to see how to make the bags and skins.

The best part of the buttons is that you can use simple off the shelf shank buttons. This is a great way to use up some of those buttons that have been sitting in the jar on your craft bench. The shank of the button should be just smaller than 1/4" Too big and it will get stuck in the grommet. Too small and the elastic may not slip through or it may slide around in the grommet.
You need elastic cord, buttons with a shank. The sharpie pen is just used to get the size of the loop correct. The elastic should be just small enough to fit through the shank of the button.
Cut about 5" of string and put it through the button. I like to dip the ends of the elastic in Dritz Fray Check glue to seal the ends but it is not critical.
Tie a simple overhand knot with the too loops. Do not tighten the knot yet.
Slip the loop over the sharpie pen. The loop should just fit snugly around the end of the pen. If it is too loose, your skin will sag :( if it is to tight, it will be hard to get the loop over the jean button.
The button is now complete. Put the loop through the grommet in the skin.
Now put the loop through the grommet in the bag.
Turn the bag over and then slip the loop over the jean button. The ends of the loop are to help you remove the loop to change skins.
When you are done, the button will cover the grommet.
Here is the finished bag, the buttons cover the grommet and accent your skin.
