I decided to lighten my hair over the summer. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but I did the front light and left the back natural. I didn't actually use the peroxide because it is a chemical and if you use too much it can dry out your hair, but it will help the lightening process speed up. This is for medium brown to blonde hair. If your hair is very dark or red, DON'T use this, it may cause your hair to turn orange. **And for the main picture, I wanted to block my face but I don't have photoshop so I used a magazine.**

Start with your bottle. I filled it 2/3 lemon juice and 1/3 water. If you add peroxide, you should probably only add a couple drops.
Make sure you hair is dry and clean. If you are only going to do a small area or one strand, section it off from everything else. I did mainly the hair that frames my face, which is a vague area so I just free handed it.
Spritz the lemon mixture onto your hair. Your hair shouldn't be dripping, but it should be very damp.
The next two steps are for different times of the year. Summer: Go out in the sun!!! With your hair lemon-damp, let the sun shine on it. The rays and heat with the acidic lemon will gradually lighten your hair. Do this several times until you get the desired shade. The sun is brightest around noon (12) so get a magazine, sunscreen, your spritz bottle, and head to the beach!!! As it dries in the sun, you may need to re apply your spritz.
Winter: It's harder to lighten in the winter because of the lack of sun and heat. The peroxide may be a good idea for the winter. So, after you spritz, blow dry your hair on high. The heat will help. You may have to do this more often. A good time to do this is after you take a shower because your hair has been soaking in hot water, and it dries slower, letting the acid soak in better.
Ta da! After a week or two, you have lighter hair!!! If you lightened a lot, I suggest root upkeep. I spritz and blow dry every week and a half so it stays looking natural.
