the shoes cost me E6 in Office, and the pearls came from cheap bunches of chainstore bracelets. i covered the straps with big pearls, with smaller ones running in lines around the back and sides, and i sewed diagonal lines across the main vamp of the shoe, for a quilted handbag effect. it was a bitch sewing on all the pearls because of the canvas in the shoes- i recommend using a thimble, a big needle or perhaps some kind of skewer to pierce the shoes first. also make sure to anchor the beads as you go along, otherwise you risk a thread breaking and haemorraging beads (..this happened to me on the dancefloor..sad.) last of all, remember not to sew the pearls on all the way across the straps, as they won't fit through the adjustment loops and you wont be able to get your shoes on. now go rock your ghetto-kicks, byatch!
