Steps (2 steps, 60 minutes)

Gauge : 20 sts = 4"(but not overly crucial)
Yarn : approx 50 yards worsted weight cotton
Needle : US sz 6Creates a 7" - 7 1/2" square.

CO 38 sts.
Knit 6 rows.
Work the stitch pattern below until desired length.
Don't knit a perfect square. Make the dishcloth a little longer than it is wide. It will shrink lengthwise considerably after use.
k - knit
yf - bring yarn to front
sl1 pwise - slip 1 stitch purlwise
sl2 pwise - slip 2 stitches purlwiseRow 1 : k4, *k2, yf, sl2 pwise*, rpt from * to * until 6 sts remain, k6
Row 2 (and all even numbered rows) : k4, p to last 4 sts, k4
Row 3 : k4, yf, sl1 pwise, *k2, yf, sl1 pwise, *k2, yf, sl2 pwise*, rpt from * to *, until last 5 sts, k5
Row 5: k4, yf, sl2 pwise, *k2, yf, sl2 pwise*, rpt from * to * until last 4 sts, k4The pattern is continued in this fashion, by moving one stitch to teft every right side row.
K 6 rows. Bind off knit wise.
