Herbal Foot Soak For...Foot Odor. Yeah I Said It.

This summer, my job running around an un-airconditioned flower distributing facility has caused a problem with something I've never suffered from before: foot odor. Even though I shower daily (who'd stand in 100-degree heat all day and not want to shower when they get home?), wear clean socks (duh) and machine-wash my shoes regularly, I was still having a problem with odor. So I decided to make an herbal soak to help me with my embarrassing problem. I hope it helps you too! :)

You Will Need (4 things)

  • Kettle
  • Water
  • Herbs mint, rosemary, fennel, bay
  • Coffee Press or teapot or tea ball

Steps (7 steps, 17 minutes)

    Gather supplies. You need aromatic herbs, a teapot, tea strainer or french press, hot water kettle and a container to pour your foot bath into.

    For your herbs, choose the best and strongest-smelling you have. I chose bay leaf, mint, rosemary, and fennel.

    Bring your water to the boil.

    Now, while the water is boiling, we'll proceed as if we are making a loose-leaf tea. Add 1/4 teaspoon of each herb into your french press, or teapot or ball if that's what you're using. I used 1/2 teaspoon of the mint for extra freshness.

    Pour hot water into the vessel. If using a French press like me, stir the contents once the vessel is full, then put on the lid.

    Allow to steep for 5 minutes.

    Run a few inches of very warm (but not hot) water into your foot bath. Add the herbal infusion once steeped. Soak your feet for ten minutes--I also brought out my pumice stone, foot lotion, and fluffy socks to make this more of a "spa" and less of an "embarrassment" situation.
