Lisa is mostly knitted in Garter stitch with a centred cable on back and front.

You Will Need (3 things)

Steps (4 steps, 45 minutes)

  1. 1

    CABLE PANEL (worked over 34sts) Row 1: C6B, (P8, C6F)
    twice.
    Row 2 & every foll alt row: Purl.
    Row 3: K6, (P8, K6) twice. Row 5: As row 1.
    Row 7: K6, P6, C5BP, C5FP, P6, K6.
    Row 9: C6B, P4, C5BP, P4, C5FP, P4, C6F.
    Row 11: K6, P2, C5BP, P8, C5FP, P2, K6.
    Row 13: C6B, C5BP, P12, C5FP, C6F.
    Row 15: K3, C6F, P16, C6B, K3.
    Row 17: C6B, C5FP, P12, C5BP, C6F.
    Row 19: K6, P2, C5FP , P8, C5BP, P2, K6.
    Row 21: C6B, P4, C5FP , P4, C5BP, P4, C6F.
    Row 23: K6, P6, C5FP, C5BP , P6, K6.
    Row 24: Purl.
    BACK
    Using 5mm needles cast on 80 [90, 98, 108] sts.
    Row 1: K23 [28, 32, 37] work row 1 of pattern panel, K23 [28, 32, 37] sts.

    Row 2: K23 [28, 32, 37] work row 2 of pattern panel, K23 [28, 32, 37] sts.
    These 2 rows set position of cable panel and garter stitch.
    Continue until Back measures 45 [45, 47, 47] cm, ending with a ws row.
    Shape armholes
    Work 8 [8, 10, 10] rows dec 1 st at each end of every row. 64 [74, 78, 88] sts.**

    Work straight until armhole measures19[21,25,28]cm, ending with a ws row.

    Shape Shoulders
    Cast off 6 [9, 8, 10] sts at beg of next 2 rows. 52 [56, 62, 68] sts.
    Cast off 7 [9, 9, 11] sts at beg of next 2 rows. 38 [38, 44, 46] sts.
    Cast off remaining sts.

  2. 2

    FRONT
    Work as given for back to ** 64 [74, 78, 88] sts.
    Continue in patt until armhole measures 14 [16, 20, 23] cm, ending with a ws row.
    Shape Neck
    Beg with the rs of the work facing you, divide neck as follows:-
    Patt 24 [29, 30, 34] sts, turn, slip rem 40 [45, 48, 54] sts onto a stitch holder. You will come back to these 40 [45, 48, 54] sts later to work the second side of neck.
    Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 4, 4] sts, patt to end. 21 [26, 26, 30] sts.
    Next row: Patt to last 2 sts, patt2tog. 20 [25, 25, 29] sts. Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 4, 4] sts, patt to end. 17 [22, 21, 25] sts.
    Next row: Patt to last 2 sts, patt2tog. 16 [21, 20, 24] sts. Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 3, 3] sts, patt to end. 13 [18, 17, 21] sts.

    Work straight until armhole measures same as Back to start of shoulder shaping, ending with a ws row.

    Shape Shoulder
    Nextrow:Castoff6[9,8,10] sts, patt to end. 7 [9, 9, 11] sts.
    Next row: Patt across row. Next row: Cast off rem 7 [9, 9, 11] sts.
    To work the second side of the neck return to the 40 [45, 48, 54] sts left on st holder onto the main needle.
    With rs of the work facing you, rejoin yarn and cast off 16 [16, 18, 20] sts, patt to end. 24 [29, 30, 34] sts.
    Next row: Patt across row. Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 4, 4] sts, patt to end. 21 [26, 26, 30] sts.
    Next row: Patt to last 2 sts, patt2tog. 20 [25, 25, 29] sts. Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 4, 4] sts, patt to end. 17 [22, 21, 25] sts.
    Next row: Patt to last 2 sts, patt2tog. 16 [21, 20, 24] sts. Next row: Cast off 3 [3, 3, 3] sts, patt to end. 13 [18, 17, 21] sts.

    Work straight until armhole measures same as Back to start of shoulder shaping, ending with a rs row.
    Shape shoulder
    Next row: Cast off 6 [9, 8, 10] sts, patt to end.
    Next row: Patt across row. Next row: Cast off rem 7 [9, 9, 11] sts.

    SLEEVES (Both Alike) Using 5mm needles cast on 41 [45, 49, 53] sts.
    Work in Garter stitch (every row knit) throughout of sleeve, increasing 1 st at each end of 11th and every foll 13th row until there are 59 [63, 69, 75] sts.
    Work straight until sleeve measures 46 [48, 50, 52] cm, ending with a ws row.
    Shape Sleeve Top
    Work 8 [8, 10, 10] rows dec 1 st at each end of every row. 43 [47, 49, 55] sts. Work8[4,4,4]rowsdec1st at each end of next and every foll alt row. 35 [43, 45, 51] sts.
    Work 10 [14, 14, 14] rows dec 1 st at each end of every row. 15 [15, 17, 23] sts.
    Cast off rem 15 [15, 17, 23] sts.

  4. 4

    NECKBAND
    Join right shoulder seam using backstitch.
    Using 4mm needles and rs facing pick up and knit 23 [23, 26, 26] sts evenly down left side of neck, 16 [16, 18, 20] sts from cast off sts at centre front neck, 23 [23, 26, 26] sts evenly up right side of neck and 38 [38, 44, 46] sts from cast off sts at centre back neck. 100 [100, 114, 118] sts. Work in Garter stitch for 6cm, then cast off loosely knitways.

    TO MAKE UP
    Join left shoulder seam and neckband seams. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeve tops into armholes easing to fit.
