Celebrating her 35th year, there is no doubt that Hello Kitty is still the coolest cat around. Massively popular, her face can be found on millions of different objects from toasters to toilet seats, and now... lanterns. To make your own Hello Kitty paper lantern follow the directions below:
Find a nice basic Hello Kitty head image online and open it up in Word, or any image editing program. Resize the Hello Kitty image so that the face details fit the size of your lantern.
Gently open up your paper lantern and insert the metal support. Be careful when inserting the support. Shoving it in too quick could bend the metal, or rip your lantern.
Cut out the pieces like this and set them aside. You'll want to play around with the arrangement of the face pieces before you glue them on the lantern.
Bend the ears and create a soft crease right across the middle of the bow. This will allow them to pop up and create a nifty 3D effect.
Using white paper glue, glue on the Hello Kitty face pieces like so. For a glossy effect you can cover the face pieces with a thin layer of decoupage. Let dry and your done. Too cute right? ;)
