Curly hair is always in style and I love it, but using heat on your hair is really bad for it so I found this method of perfect curls without using heat! It’s done in the form of a rope braid, if you know what that is and how to do it this whole tutorial will be much simpler but if not, I will show you how to do it. It can be tricky to begin with but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy!
Start off with slightly damp hair. (Make sure it isn’t too damp or else it wont dry and hold its shape.)
Then, starting on one side take the top inch of your hair and begin twisting it towards your head, and then continue down the side of your head, adding sections of hair as you go and finish at about the nape of your neck. This twist must be super tight at this point and we will call it Section 1. Secure it down with a bobby pin for now.
Repeat this step on the other side of your hair but only bring it down as far as the side of your neck where the other piece comes to. This section is section 2.
This next step is the tricky bit! Taking Section 2, twist it away from the face and then hold in place with one hand. With the other hand, twist Section 1 away from the face too.
Then taking both of the sections twist them tightly together going towards your face. Keep the two individual braids tight and the completely rope braid tight too. It should look like the final picture when it is done.
I slept on mine to give it a good solid 8 hours to dry however because it is a wearable look you could wear your hair like this during the day and then have it curly for the evening.
Gently undo the braid and start to slowly separate the twists, I find that the easiest way to separate the curls is by placing my fingers at the roots of my hair and shaking them out.
