This tutorial is a great way to brighten up a tired old sweater or to let you get a bit more wear out of knitwear which has gone hole-y at the elbows! You can use scrap fabrics too, as it doesn't take much.
This tutorial is a great way to brighten up a tired old sweater or to let you get a bit more wear out of knitwear which has gone hole-y at the elbows! You can use scrap fabrics too, as it doesn't take much.
Cut out a heart template from paper - cut it on folded paper to make sure it's perfectly symmetrical.
Check your template against the arm of your garment to make sure you're happy with the size and placement
Pin template to fabric and cut around leaving an edge of about half a centimetre
Notch around the edge of the shape and use an iron to press the fabric edge over the paper template
Pin to garment and hand sew in place
