I fell in love with Japanese dango when I had it for the first time. It's basically some sticky rice ball mochi thing, but it was so soft and sweet. I chose to make Hanami dango which has 3 lovely pastel colours. Instead of round shapes, I made it into cute hearts.
I fell in love with Japanese dango when I had it for the first time. It's basically some sticky rice ball mochi thing, but it was so soft and sweet. I chose to make Hanami dango which has 3 lovely pastel colours. Instead of round shapes, I made it into cute hearts.
So here are the materials and a heart shape cookie cutter. Please be careful with the needle, always stick them on the felting mat/ sponge when you are not using it. Firstly, let's take some pink fibers first and fill in the heart cookie cutter.
Separate the fibers loosely and fill in the cookie cutter to the top. Remember to have fibers going in all directions (horizontally and vertically), it will needle felted best this way.
Stab the wool until it gives a surface, and then flip to the back and do the same thing. Always flip between the two sides because we do not want the fibers to stick to the sponge.
Take the heart up and start to work on the edges to give it a round and smooth surface.
Now repeat the same process for the two other hearts. After all this you can use a skewer and poke through the hearts. And now it's done!
