Using a strand of black yarn and a yarn needle, stitch the brown and yellow pencil stripes to the end of the pencil nib, matching the slants together.
Stitch the pencil stripes together. Using black yarn. CO 40 Stitch in stockinette stitch for 30 rows. Cast off. Stitch to the end of the pencil. Using pink yarn CO 40 Stitch in stockinette stitch for 20 rows. Cast off. Stitch to the end of the pencil. Weave in the loose ends and block your scarf.
