This is an incredibly easy way to make someone something special for Valentines Day. No need to go rush and pick up a Hallmark card at the last minute when you can make this at home in moments.
This is an incredibly easy way to make someone something special for Valentines Day. No need to go rush and pick up a Hallmark card at the last minute when you can make this at home in moments.
Take your sheet of card stock, fold it in half then cut along the seam. Then take one of the halves and fold it in half width wise so that you get a card like shape.
On the side that won't show, figure out where you going to cut to create your opening. I just measured about a centimeter in from every edge.
Then cut along the lines and create a window.
Next, choose a paper to both line the inside of your cards and to make the hearts out of.
Cut out your hearts. I tried to vary mine up a little bit so they wouldn't all look too uniform.
Cut a length of embroidery thread a few centimeters long. Then separate the floss into three sections (2 threads per heart).
Tape each thread to the back of each of the hearts.
Then tape the top of the thread to the inside of the card, where it won't show on the outside. I also varied up the lengths of the cords so the hearts would all hang differently.
Then cut your scrap book paper down to a size that fits inside your card whenever it's folded over and glue it down. I added a tiny lip to mine to give the front a bit more structure so that it wouldn't fall down quite so easily.
And voila! You're done, and you have a fantastic handmade card to give to your beloved on Valentines Day.
