You Will Need (11 things)
- 100 % Wool felt
- Rice
- Dried Herbs or flowers
- Embroidery Needle
- Paper Template of your chosen shape
- Embroidery Thread
- Scissors
- Pins
- Cutting Mat
- Scalpel

Steps (12 steps, 120 minutes)
-
1
Gather your awesome materials! *
*When making hotties always use 100% wool felt, as any kind of synthetic wool mix will burn in the microwave when you heat them up. No one likes the smell of melty plastic!
-
2
Pin your chosen template onto the felt, keeping it as flat as possible.
-
3
Cut round your template carefully, then repeat – so you have two identical pieces.
-
4
If you’re adding a felt letter for decoration, cut your paper templates out carefully using a scalpel & cutting mat.
-
5
Cut round your letter templates, using the scalpel & cutting mat for the fiddly bits.
-
6
Position your letters & stop to appreciate your lovely colour combos!
-
7
Using your embroidery thread & needle, sew your letters on using any stitch you like.
-
8
So you end up with something like these…
-
9
Sew the front & back pieces together using a blanket stitch, leaving a small section open for filling them up.
-
10
Fill your handwarmer with a mix of rice or split peas and your chosen dried flowers or herbs, then sew up the gap.
-
11
And voila! Some hotties for your hottie…or perhaps just for you :)

Revel in your craft mastery, then microwave for 1 minute each and enjoy!
