This is a really fun project to make! And it looks great for years! The main photograph is the pond I built... the second is a sample pond. *Only add lily pads if pond is in part sun/full sun. *Fish & turtles prefer shade. This project is less pricey if you use old stuff. This is a low maintaining pond.. even easier to maintain when plants, fish, or turtles are added.

Find a large aluminum gardening tub. and all of your supplies. You want a regular basic garden pond pump... one that does not shoot up in the middle. Some that do shoot up in the middle come with a hose for the option not to shoot up... this will work, too!
Drill a hole in the lower back of the small gardening bucket the size of the hose. The hose should fit tight into the bucket.
Add 3-4 terra cotta flower pots to the large tub upside down. Placing 1-2 in the back to prop up the small bucket. Place 1-2 flower pots higher to lower infront of the one that will be holding the bucket... highest closest to that flower pot... lower moving away from it. * I added two more flower pots upside down on the sides to hold up extra flat rocks.
Put hose into aluminum bucket.. having it stick into the bucket 2"-3". Add aluminum bucket to the top of the back flower pot... tilting the opening downward. Add basic garden pump as the instructions for that pump read. Attaching the other end of the hose to the pump.
Add medium flat rocks under the bucket to adjust the tilt. Add the medium flat rocks to the higher to lower flower pots... giving it a falling effect. I added medium flat rocks to the extra flower pots I added.
ADD WATER TO POND! At this point... Test the pump. Make sure it is in working order and that the bucket is tilted correctly. The water flowing into the bucket will flow out the opening down the high to low rocks when it is correct. Now! Add small rocks to decorate... not too many. Remember the aluminum tub is so big... and if you want to add fish, turtles, or plants.. leave room!
