I wanted to try something a bit different for Halloween this year so after seeing a similar fascinator in my local Remnant Kings, I decided to make one at home
Take your Sinamay Disc and cut a piece of fabric which is slightly larger than your disc
Glue down one corner and then stretch the material, gluing the opposite corner. Then work your way round gluing and folding the material in as you go. I used a glue gun as it sets quickly and lets you keep working
OPTIONAL STEP I decided that I wanted a glitter finish to my fascinator but you can miss out the next few steps if you don't want the same finish. Turn the Disc right side up and cover in a thin coat of glue For this I used Mod Podge (you can buy it on ebay/amazon)
OPTIONAL STEP Put the disc in a bowl/container and shake glitter over the top of it, making sure all the glued area is covered
OPTIONAL STEP Leave the glue to dry
Draw round your disc onto a piece of felt and cut it out. Then flip the disc over, put glue round the inner edge and place the felt inside . this covers all your rough material edges from when you glued the outer material on For this step, I went back to using the glue gun again.
Take a thin piece of ribbon and glue round the edge again, sticking on the ribbon as you go. This puts a nice edging on the underside of the fascinator
Take your comb/clips etc and attach to the disc. I decided to use a comb, which I wrapped ribbon round the base and glued both corners to the inside of the disc. I then stitched both sides a few times to improve the durability of the fascinator.
Take your spider toy and put glue on the base of its body, before attaching it to the front of your fascinator.
Then all you need to do it wear it out somewhere! Guaranteed way to get noticed at your Halloween party this year :D
