A vintage inspired Halloween Cat Clock. Easy to make and perfect for adding some spooky decor to your abode this Halloween. Trace or draw a large circle onto the shirt cardboard. Cut the circle out, then trace the same circle onto the poster sheet and cut it out also. Glue the poster sheet onto the cardboard circle. Locate the center of the circle and use the nail or awl to poke a small hole through the circle shape. The circle will act as the glowing moon behind the cat’s face.
Google the following: “Vintage Halloween Cats”. Draw a vintage style cat head on white paper and cut it out. Use this as a template to trace the cat head shape onto the black, peel and stick foam. Cut the head out and stick it onto the center of the moon shaped background. Poke a hole from the back center of the clock through the cat’s face. Draw the cat’s facial features onto orange and white sheets of peel and stick foam sheets. Stick the cut out features onto the cat’s face, working around the center hole. Draw in additional details using permanent markers as desired.
Attach the clock mechanism, including the hour, minute and second hands to the clock face by following the basic directions included in the mechanism set. It looks a lot more intimidating than it really is. I had reversible hour and minute hands so I chose to use the white and black sides of the minute and hour hands for fun. My second hand was only available in red. Use a permanent marker to write in the hours. I like to write in the 12, 3, 6 and 9 first and then add the rest of the hours. Hang the finished clock on a wall for extra spooky décor this Halloween.
