Steps (15 steps, 480 minutes)

  1. 1

    Materials list

  2. 2

    Step 1
Align tissue paper with bottom of bowl. I decided that I wanted this cute little spider to be close to center, so that where I positioned him. Tear tissue paper a little bigger than the area you will be covering.

  3. 3

    Step 2
Mix a bit of white glue with glitter glue and a few drops of water. (glue should still be thick) Apply glue mixture directly to bottom of bowl with a paint brush.

  4. 4

    Step 3
Place tissue paper with care onto the bottom of bowl where you painted the glue mixture. Then carefully paint more of the glue mixture over the top of the tissue paper. (be careful not to press too hard, as you don’t want to tear the paper.)

  5. 5

    Step 4
Dry with heat gun (or allow to air dry fully before going onto next step)

  6. 6

    Step 5
Carefully trim paper from bottom of bowl with an exacto knife.

  7. 7

    Step 6
Repeat steps 1 through 5 with
    OUTSIDE of bowl.

  8. 8

    Step 7
Dry thoroughly before going onto step 9. (Use heat gun for quicker dry time.)

  9. 9

    Step 8
Once paper is completely dry, trim paper from edge of bowl with exacto knife. (If the tissue paper is still wet, it will pull and tear, rather than leave a clean edge.) You’ll be able to see the pattern through the bowl when you turn the bowl over.

  10. 10

    Step 9
Paint outside of bowl with spray paint and allow to dry FULLY.

  11. 11

    Step 10
Use a black Sharpie marker to color the edge of the bowl, to the edge of where you cut the paper. (This hides the seam between the paper and the bowl.)

  12. 12

    Step 11
If you’d like a bit more sparkle, use glitter glue around the edge of the bowl.

  13. 13

    Step 12
Cut and glue a length of lace around the bottom of the bowl.

  14. 14

    Step 13
Add a length of ribbon on top of the lace. Tie into a bow and secure with glue.

  15. 15

    Step 14
Add candy or a candle, and you’re done!

NOTE: YOU MUST HAND WASH THIS BOWL FROM NOW ON TO KEEP IT PRETTY.
