You Will Need (3 things)

  • Large T Shirt
  • 1 yd Grommet Tape or so
  • 1 packets Double Sided Trim Tape

Steps (5 steps, 60 minutes)

ok im sorry i was like 90% of the way threw making this b4 i remembered to take pictures! but its easy to do.

first put your shirt on and draw a lone on it where you want your shoulder strap to fall. the big one. and mark it down the front around your body so it will become fitted.

you could pin it down the sides also.

then draw a line across the top to under your arm so its one shoulder.

anyway it should look like this with your lines or pins.

you could leave it one shouldered but somehow i made mine to low cut and w/o the lil strap id be flashing people o.0

now sew up the arm hole and the sides.

hopefully you sew better than i draw in paint lol.

also you want to sew in that little extra strap if you want it now before the grommet tape trust me.

ok grommet tape time! now my grommet tape is like pleather or something like it. which you can't sew threw. you can make grommet tape by sewing a rectangle or fabric turning it right side out and putting eyelets in. hooray for the crop-o-dile! lol

i used this double sided no sew permanent tape for trims and hems to put this grommet tape on. i put two strips on side by side since my grommet tape was wider than my glue tape. you want the tape to go to the edges of your grommet tape.

then starting at the top shoulder strap press it down good and firm to the seam to the bust on the other side. you will want to rub and press this down like an sob. go slow cuz with mine one it was down it was down.

i just hope your dress looks better than my paint one lol

now i had sticted the very ends of my grommet tape down just to be sure which was a pain yeah use a super sharp needle and get a thimble. don't machine sew it nearly broke mine when i tried. so yeah the package on my grommet tape lied!

i sewed it on the back side on the top so my front wasn't all mucked up. i went between the pieces and then threw the grommet tape. on the back side.this will suck the tape made my needle all sticky but yeah better safe than sorry later.

now do the same gig down the side over your side seam. and that is your swanky new dress.

plus the matching cuff from my other tutorial from the cut off sleeves!
