Been a while since my Goth days.. Gotta admit, recreating this look did make me feel nostalgic. So I had to do a bit of research into this to remind me.. This look is loosely based on Devin Sola from the band Motionless in White. I tend to be more a fan of the slapdash and handsome side of goth rather than pretty and neat...

Use a white face paint (I’m using BLANC DE CLOWN BY SNAZAROO) to pale yourself up. The idea is to make yourself look pale rather than pure white, so don’t go overboard
Then intensify the white in your highlight parts of the face – your forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin
Use a buffing brush (I’m using the one by REAL TECHNIQUES) to buff it in – the aim is to make it look natural and not painted on…. Well, as natural as possible! :)
Eyebrows – use a black to contrast your very pale skin. I used the black cream liner by RIMMEL LONDON and filled in my brows
A technique I recommend for a gothic eye look is to use a red lip pencil.. Because it helps to give a grunge –esque feel to it. I used GASH LIP PENCIL BY URBAN DECAY. Apply this all over the lid and on the bottom lash line
Use an eyeshadow brush to blend the red done and make it look really messy
Use a mixture of different colours to create depth to the eyes – I used both QUITE NATURAL PAINT POT BY MAC and SCENE EYESHADOW BY MAC
For contour – because it’s quite an OTT contour I think there’s nothing wrong with adding a touch of colour. I decided to go with a blue to contrast with the warm red in my eyes. I used BLUE VELVET SHADOWCREME BY ESTEE LAUDER
Apply a black eyeliner to your water line – I used SUPERSHOCK BY AVON
Add your black eyeshadow to your lid area – push it on to increase intensity and then blend outwards
Add the black liner (that you used for your eyebrows) to your lash line
Apply lots of mascara
Apply a dark lipstick – I’m using KITTENISH BY MAC
OPTIONAL – paint your neck with the black face paint…. This is optional ofcourse! :). Sometimes I see gothic band members do this to bring out their faces more
Improvise with some marks on your face
Back comb your hair – et finito!
