Styling Tips: 1. We love this piece as a brooch on a navy or red tote! 2. This cutie goes great with plaids!

Instructions

  1. Small dscn4057

Gather materials and plug in your glue gun.

  2. Small dscn4058

Flip applique face side down on a good work space. Begin by gluing one end of the pleated satin ribbon to the back of the applique. Press the ribbon down so it sticks to the applique.

  3. Small dscn4059

Fold and glue ribbon as shown. This will make it so the shiny side of the satin ribbon is always exposed.

  4. Small dscn4062

The front should look like this.

  5. Small dscn4065

Now fold the ribbon as shown and glue down again.

  6. Small dscn4066

Continue this process all around the applique. Here's an "in progress" photo.

  7. Small dscn4072

Once finished, cut a 6", 8", and 10" piece of pearl trim. Also, save scraps of pleated ribbon for this part.

  8. Small dscn4075

Lay the 6" piece of pearl trim as shown and glue down with your glue gun.

  9. Small dscn4077

Now repeat the last step with the 8" piece of pearl trim, gluing the ends to the outside of the 6" piece of pearl trim.

  10. Small dscn4079

Glue down the 10" piece of pearl trim on top of the other two pieces.

  11. Small dscn4083

Cover pearls and glue clump by adding more glue and placing a piece of pleated trim over pearl ends.

  12. Small dscn4085

Cut a scrap of t shirt fabric and cover the entire back of your new motif.

  13. Small dscn4089

First glue down the scrap fabric, and then your hair clip or pin. Wipe up any excess glue with a pen cap.

Now try it on and enjoy!
