Gold Bead Ornaments

A cheap and fancy way to dress up those windows!

This makes two windows worth, 16 strands of beads. Even if you already have curtains, these add an elegant touch. I saw them at a home goods store for 40 dollars a window, the glue was even done sloppily! I decided to make them myself and found the exact same beads that were used on them in a Jo Anne's for a reasonable price with ribbon. The total was $18 for both windows versus $80 retail.

You Will Need (5 things)

  • 1-2 Lace Ribbon spool(s)
  • 2 Bead(s)
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Thread
  • Needle

Steps (3 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

First measure your desired ribbon, I made 8 strands or ribbon for each window with 9 beads on each. I love this project because you can put as many beads as you want in different colors and ribbons to match your room.

  2. 2

I threaded on 9 beads per strand, spacing them out evenly and only hot-gluing one bead to hide the riddbon's end. The beads in the middle were small enough that they stayed in place without glue. My beads were very similar to these in the picture and came in assorted bags of which I bought one per window.

  3. 3

I folded two inches of ribbon where it meets the rod, like the top of this curtain. I simply used a few stiches and DONE!
