Instructions

Assemble all of your materials and get them ready to work with!

  2. Small 111606 2f2015 10 20 051226 terrarium%2b6

Make sure your plants are ready to go and be potted!

Cut your design using the Silhouette Cutting Machine into contact paper. Using clear contact paper makes it very easy to see when you apply it to the glassware. Remove the backing and apply your contact paper to the glass, making sure to overlap where necessary to form perfectly to the rounded edge. Press firmly down to ensure it is evenly flush with the glass.

Apply the etching cream paste liberally to the glass using the foam paintbrush. Try your best to ensure the paste does not get anywhere else on the glass besides the stencil.

After waiting a solid 30 minutes, rinse off all the excess cream in cold water. It may not look good right now but when it is completely dried it will!

Once you dry your glass, it should be nicely etched.

This is the easy part, create the terrarium! Place the rocks/stones at the bottom of the container, add potting soil and activated charcoal (if desired), and finally add plants and pat down securely! It's that easy.
