This was created for a GLAM party I attended to add some bling to my arm. Of course you can choose any fabrics to create a trim but these trims were ready to go with some bling. I've made many of these with different stuff for all occasions.
This was created for a GLAM party I attended to add some bling to my arm. Of course you can choose any fabrics to create a trim but these trims were ready to go with some bling. I've made many of these with different stuff for all occasions.
I used 3 different trims to begin each measuring about the same width, these were approx. 2.5". Measure around your arms and cut the length of the pink and silver with flowers. The black with silver should be longer because it will be used to make a ruffled trim so you'll need more for the gathering. Depending on what type of closure you will use (I used buttons with elastic cord to wrap around the buuttons) makes a little difference on the length. I have a tiny wrist so didn't need tit too long either.
First, I hand sewed the pink glitter dot trim behind the silver with flowers trim one by hand because this is not easy to sew through a machine.
Then I took the black and silver trim and hand sewed it to the edge. I ruffled it a little bit by gathering it on the edge creating pleats/ruffles.
I performed steps 2 and 3 twice to make it wider by sewing both pieces to each other with ruffled trim on opposite ends.
Last, I added 3 buttons to one edge and 2 short pieces of elastic cord to the other edge, sewn taught, for my closure. (sorry, no photo)
