After making a squig, I was asked by my fiancé to make him a bigger one! So I did, it was different to a smaller one, and I added a tail which I forgot previously. The body fabric is crushed velvet (£4 per meter, 1 meter) and the teeth are felt. We chose red because "red ones go faster!"

Cut out a circle out of the fabric square. I tried to fold it so that I would just round a corner off but the fabric was too thick, and I tried to leave a corner in-tact for a tail, but my mind couldn't picture it so I ended up with a weird shape that later worked after a bit of a trim.
Make a loose running stitch around the outside of the circle so that when you pull it tight, the circle closes. Don't pull it fully tight or tie off the thread yet.
Tighten and stuff the squig. When the squig is a full as you want pull the thread tight and stitch across to make sure it holds. I used a whole bag (cushion-sized) of stuffing, and 3/4 of another bag. some of this was for the feet later. I made the squig quite squishy (as per request), but stuff how firm you want it.
I then sewed and stuffed the tail. I sewed one side, then decided that it looked like a butterfly instead of a tail so I shaped it with scissors, then sewed and stuffed the tail.
I then painted eyes on the squig, starting with the outside of the eyes, then the eyebrows to make it look mean, then the pupils. Cut out pointy teeth from the off-white felt. I did 2 layers of teeth on the top and bottom, like a shark. And nostrils too!
After I had glued on the teeth (with just PVA glue, nothing fancy) I coloured in the "whites" of the eyes. I used a yellow sparkly paint because that was all that I had. My fiancé had a choice of pearly white, sparkly yellow, no colour or black. When that was dry I painted over the "whites" with some glow-in-the-dark paint.
Using scraps I made 2 feet out of rectangles. Fold one rectangle in half and stitch along two of the edges. Stuff the feet and sew them onto the squig's body.
