Find a cool looking old skirt, in my case a skort that i had cut the shorts out of. Mine's slightly high-waisted and A-line.
Now you need an old pair of mom jeans(ice cream pants work best) cut one leg out.
CUt the seams from both sides of the leg, making two equal lengths of jean materal that tapers on its own. *sorry, theres no picture*
Sew the shorter side (where the ankle would be), you dont have to do this, but it helps me adjust without measuring.
Situate the legs to wrap around the skirt so that one side is skinny and the other larger. If you want to emphasize the butt or hips make the very end (that would cover the upper thigh) on one side and dont use the skinniest part.
Now sew all the way around the front panel then the back(sepratly), forming a kind of trapizoid with the sewing. Dont sew within about 2-3 inches of each edge. Cut the skinny side where you sewed earlier.
Evenly punch grommets into the area of jean that you left. Sew on the outer edge of the grommets if you dont want them fray.
Puch grommets into the back as well. This also shows the back were I had to work with the zipper. If your chose skirt has a zipper, brake the back panel into two and cut the jean so the zipper shows and works.
lace up the sides and wear it whichever way you like. Be mindful that the grommets are not heavy duty, if you tighten them too much they will pop off. Hope you like!!
