Making masks are sooo much more fun then just buying them. Please don't feel like you need to follow all the colors and style of mine that i have posted. Have fun with your own creativity! These are just some ideas and things for you to get started. Put your own personal style on your mask to make it yours!
Making masks are sooo much more fun then just buying them. Please don't feel like you need to follow all the colors and style of mine that i have posted. Have fun with your own creativity! These are just some ideas and things for you to get started. Put your own personal style on your mask to make it yours!
First I spray-painted the mask black. Make sure you get an even coat so what ever color it was before doesn't show through. To make it two colors, use masking tape to cover one side of the mask. Spray-paint the clean side. Peel off the tape and lightly cover the painted side after it dries COMPLETELY.
Next I took a strand of sequins and glued it in a eyelash shape along the eye to give it a feminine look. (Sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy.) :)
I then glued on a big, black feather in the middle at the top. Again, the style and color of the feather can vary. I gave it some color by adding some smaller, fluffier red feathers at the bottom of the black one.
To cover up the stems of the feathers, I used some ribbon roses. I bunched them up and glued them at the stems.
Next I took some red and black ribbon and glued it to the side of the mask. I also used this fabulous ribbon with roses on it.
To cover up the other hole on the other side, i used a single ribbon rose.
Last i spray-painted the dowel (about 6'' long) and glued it to the inside. Make sure you get it a little at an angle. And there's the mask! Have fun tweeking it and have fun at your mask party!
