This is a little more difficult than regular french braiding, but it looks super pretty. Yes, I'm using a Barbie doll. My hair is too short to braid.

Make sure your hair is tangle free from root to tip. You can't braid hair with tangles. Then, create a small section at the top of your head.
Separate that section into two smaller sections, then take a tiny bit of hair from the pre-existing right section, cross it over, and add it to the left. Then take a tiny section from the pre-existing left section and cross it over and add it to the right. That is a basic fishtail braid.
Now, from the right, separate a tiny section from the pre-existing right section and then take a tiny bit of hair from the hair BELOW the braid and add it to the tiny section and cross it over and add it to the left section.
Take a small section from the pre-existing left, add a small bit of hair from below the braid, add it to the small section, and cross it over and it to the right.
Now, repeat. When you run out of hair to add to the smaller sections, just fishtail braid the rest, taking a small section from one side, cross it over, add it to the other side. Then, take a section from the other side, cross it over and add it to the other side,.
