I wanted to try making a plush toy for a while, but wasn't inspired until I had this idea for an octopus. I had a cheap pair of gloves that had little grippy nubs on them, an for some reason they reminded me of the suckers on an octopus. Any gloves will work, but for the best effect try finding some that have the grippers on them.
What you'll need: 1. gloves (preferably with little grippers on the fingers and palms) 2. some material for the head (I used the sleeve from an old shirt) 3. stuffing (I used pillow stuffing) 4. buttons for the eyes 5. sewing supplies (I don't really sew, all I had was an emergency sewing kit in my kitchen drawer)
Cut the gloves across just above where the thumb is so you're left with 4 "tentacles". Stuff the fingers with whatever fluff you're using and then attach the two halves.
Then just create and stuff your head. (I'm sure you can do it faster and more efficiently than I did!) Attach it to the tentacles. (for the mouth I just pinched the material and sewed at either end to give him some cheeks) Use some buttons for the eyes.
There you go! You're own little Frankenpus! (or whatever you decide to name yours) p.s.- If anyone tries this, please show me how it turns out!
