The only reason that this project took 12 hours for me was because I did it completely by hand. Sewing the perimeter shut with such a thin and flimsy fabric by hand was the reason I went out and got a sewing machine before I started a new project. The green fabric, mine at least, was a little bit awkward to work with because it was so flimsy and my hands would get cramped up with having to hold pieces on it in place. I used a thick, almost yarn-like thread for the spaces between the teeth with a running stitch and then filled in the gaps that were left with a few stitches of regular black thread. I did this instead of making a longer running stitch with the thick black thread because I wanted it all to be more secure and not move around. There is a decorative, white running stitch around the perimeter of the pupils.
