My boyfriend found a wedding dress in the thrift store dumpster. He gave it to me and I decided to make some serious alterations... Note: This tutorial uses images from the video game Enchanted, which is based on the Disney movie.

First, Get your cauldron out and fill it with hot, almost boiling water. Add a cup of salt, then add the black dye into the mix. Stir clockwise to blend all the ingredients.
Submerge the dress in the dye and continue to stir clockwise.
After an hour or few, the dress turns a pale grey color with black accents. Hang it up to dry in the sun...
Empty the bucket and make a new batch of purple dye, and stir it up.
Put the dry dress in the purple dye. Stir clockwise and make sure to get the entire dress covered. Leave in for a long time.....
The end result is amazing! The trim and tulle got turned black, and the rest of the dress a light violet. I used scissors to cut the outer part of the dress shorter.
