I bought these plastic flowers almost two years ago & I never used them, they came with nails - but I moved into a room that's all concrete all around so nails or push pins don't work so well. I then covered up this window by my bed with a piece of plywood - but jeez was it ever ugly. I didn't want to nail into it since it's so thin - so I used a glue gun :D Success. I imagine if you would like to DIY the whole project, you could probably make really nice flowers out of some polymer clay or for a cheaper solution make them out of felt & just reinforce them to stand up. I also imagine lil fabric flowers would look really pretty too :>

the "Before" picture Prep the area with cardboard & Tape around the borders so you don't get paint on everything.
Grab your black paint & have at it. Let Dry.
Decide where you want all your flowers to go & glue gun them to wood.
I took one of the larger flowers & sprayed it a bit with my red spray paint to make an accent & glue it on where you like.
Enjoy :D
