Used for drying flower petals and leaves in a press to flatten and eliminate light and moisture. The flowers become flat after a time, and often there is a change in color, ranging from faded to a vibrant colours. The pressed flowers and leaves can be used for a variety of craft projects. They are often mounted on paper, material or to wood furnishings. Water-colour paint can be applied to the backing paper before the flowers are attached. The flower press can usually be made from extra scrap wood, heavy paper and four screws.

Cut the wood and cardboard to equal sizes (Mine is about the size and shape of an iPad).
This is the card board before it was cut. The card board can be heavy paper, paperboard or white lined chipboard.
Cut the carbord to the same size and stack them together - wood on the top and bottom of the stack.
Drill four holes in the corners of the cardboard and Wood - not too close to the edges.
Put the bolts through with the wing nuts. If you have washers all the better.
Cut or burn designs into the top of the wood to your own design. Cutting into MDF with a knife is easy.
These are the tools you could use: a knife, chisel, or a small file.
Photo of my cat who is looking out for things to be pressed.
