I found a cheap and elastic fabric at the market and purchased three meters of it. I didn't make a pattern, I just wrapped the fabric around my body and with trial and error this dress formed itself :-) I put triangles of fabric in the skirt to make it wide. To avoid difficult backstitches at the chest piece I just contracted the fabric a bit at the cleavage. The zipper was necessary to make the dress wearable. The wide part of the skirt begins just below the butt, to make a salsa type dress (it lifts up lovely when you turn rounds!).
