One of the things I'm getting into at the moment is Poi Spinning. I love the dancing side, and saw an amazing video and was inspired to make my own. So a quick trip to the fabric shop (use something lightweight so it flows better and weighs less) and here we go:

One of the things I'm getting into at the moment is Poi Spinning. I love the dancing side, and saw an amazing video and was inspired to make my own. So a quick trip to the fabric shop (use something lightweight so it flows better and weighs less) and here we go:

Instructions

1. 

   Cut fabric triangles:

   Sew up edges.

3. 

   ...

4. 

   Pull chain through all the way down leading edge and some way across the base, leaving some "flap" but making it hard for it to coil up. Ball chain works best, but I couldn't find any and I wanted to try anyway!

5. 

   I used a safety pin to pull it through.

6. Sew chain on so doesn't slip while spinning.

7. 

   Spin! I made finger loops out of robbon, and attached them with fishing spinners so they didn't wind up.
