It prob did not take more than an hour, just guessing.I have been watching videos online of doing the free motion after I used the embroidery machine and just had to try it.I found that using a stiff stabilizer works great and no hoop is easier way to do it.I saw a man doing it on a video, no foot or hoop, and he had a special sewing machine that the width of the thread was done by the knee..no hoop just stabilizer , He was way , way fast.It takes time to get machine stich adjusted and the leaves are way to pointy..lolBut it was fun.
