My husband's birthday is just a few days before Christmas, so I usually do all his gift shopping and then choose from the pile what he gets for which. I was so focussed on finding a Wii I realized I didn't have anything good enough to stand alone for a birthday gift... so a few weeks before I whipped this little number up!

The patchwork is always the easier part of the quilt for me, so the actual quilting is very minimal on this one. I found really shiney fabrics for the front (especially the white)and used some fuzzy blankets I got on sale at Wal-Mart for the back. I didn't even need to use any batting since the back fabric was thick enough. It's a very warm blanket - heavy, too!
