I created this wreath as a Christmas gift for my grandmother. My childhood is filled with memories from my grandparents' Kentucky home. I would sit in their picture window every morning, waiting for the gold finches to swarm her numerous bird feeders. I can't articulate the joy I experienced as those little yellow birds congregated everyday, like clockwork. It seemed like there were hundreds of them. This wreath was my attempt at capturing those memories, and giving a little piece of them back to my grandma. She lives in Ohio now, where she's closer to her family. Hopefully this evokes memories of a blissful time in both of our lives.
