Hipster. do NOT use ANY fimo/clay on unhealed piercings! EVER! But get in contact with your piercer, nowadays they can hook you up with antiallergic PTFE avaiable in any piercing shape desired.

Uhm, but if you're not allowed to stretch (???), why would you want plugs in the first place?

Would this affect people allergic to metal that can't have their ears pierced? I really want plugs, but first of all I'm not allowed to stretch my ears and second of all I can't pierce them because I'm allergic to metal. So if I pierce them and make these, will I be okay?

I think the fimo's are ok to wear once your ears have heeled completely. I wouldnt suggest stretching with them though Mahaha

Well, if you only wear them during the day and switch to metal or something similar at night, I guess you'll be on the safe side.

Very curious as to what the special fimo varnish is and how safe it is even on healed ears. I really want to make these now Happy just want them to be protected and a little more comfortable. Gonna need to pick some of that varish up soon. Thank you Happy

Hoping, praying... and a lot of sanding. ^^ Take your plugs, some eye measurement and make them sliiightly larger, so you can sand your way down to the perfect size.

@Nancy: Wildcat - a piercing specialist - sells Fimo Plugs. I'm pretty sure they are clever enough not to kill their customers.

Fimo is TOXIC .. and if you put Fimo's varnish on plugs....it's still TOXIC.

Wow, how much more unprecise could a question like this become?
IF you need a 14g ( which would by the way be highly confusing since you said your lobes are still at normal size and none of your friends has that size ), I'm wildly guessing SOMEONE is going to wear it. That someone will - surpise - have to have the given size. Accepting the fact that fimo is only to be used with healed stetchings, I'm guessing even more that a smart person would not use fimo as FIRST item and therefore should definitely have ANOTHER plug in the desired size. Which, again, leads us back to the tip in the first place.

Uhm... so what's the actual problem? It's still not clear to me. If you want to make a 14g, I guess you know someone who has that size which would lead us back to the tip I gave you.

Is that your size? Then you could just take one of your plugs and try to get the same size! Or am I not getting it?

Hah ha, yeah, giving your self a limit is never any good. I had a 8mm, then 10mm, then 12mm. Its all visual. Plus freaking people out by sticking your finger through is always fun.
Did you also make your BCR clip in's? x

16 O____O Holy crap! Happy
When I started stretching, I gave myself a 5mm limit. Reaching these, I wasn't happy with it. Happy But 8 is my final border. I guess I'm gonna stretch the other side by myself now.

Ahhh I see. It's well worth it i agree.
You can see the patterns really well in 8mm, by the way, and I have 16mm stretches so I think I'm might give it a go! Thanks .x.

I've got 8mms gauge and I never had problems with any kind of plug or tunnel.
Just because these are fimo, I took them out every evening and put another metal plug in. Didn't want to risk anything.
The right size wasn't too easy, first I measured only with my eyes and by holding a fitting plug next to it. After hardening, I sanded them down when they were too big. Plenty of work there, but it's worth it.

Wow, they look fantabulous! So professional.
I find solid plugs really uncomfortable to wear in large gauges - but what are they like to wear? Do you sleep in 'em?! x
Oh, and how did you get the right gauge?
Apologies for all the questions! I’m intrigued! x

Huh, I think this stuff is pretty common and you can find it in nearly any bigger craft store or even a toys store.

These are really cool!

And I think the warnings about chemicals are for people who are still stretching, not for people whose ears are healed.

It really does. At first, people were like "Ooomg, all the bad, bad chemicals", but they even sell fimo plugs on wildcat, and I hope at least THEY know what they're doin...
